I work with buyers and sellers by listening to their needs before giving advice, by doing thorough research before giving answers, and by helping my clients make positive choices that will enhance their well being and their financial security.  In order to better serve my clients, I focus my real estate brokerage in four key areas: homes and land in Asheville’s traditional urban neighborhoods, green homes, historic homes, and last but not least, sustainable rural homes and land.  By specializing in these areas that I’m passionate about, I am able to better connect with my clients needs and personalities, making the real estate process more fun and successful.
 
I feel fortunate to live and work in Asheville.   The natural beauty, outdoor activities, artsy culture and community oriented people make this a great place to live.  I moved to Asheville from a similar town, Charlottesville, VA, in 2004.  After graduating from the University of Virginia with degrees in Environmental Science and Environmental Thought and Practice, I decided that I wanted to move to a place that was progressive and beautiful, so I chose Asheville.
 
Using my education in urban planning and environmental science as my compass, I entered real estate.  I obtained my real estate license in 2005 and worked in real estate brokerage while also doing green building development and urban planning consulting.  In 2009, I decided to move into real estate full time, so I started Mosaic Community Lifestyle Realty.  I wanted the company to operate from core values of community and environmental sustainability, so I designed programs such as the Energy Retrofit Program and Our Agency Promise to support those tenants.  I also hired other experienced brokers who have similar focuses.

Mike is the by far the best agent I've ever worked with. A number of things stand out--his high ethical standards, his ability to listen to your requirements, his knowledge of the local area and culture, and the amount of research he does on your behalf. He is very knowledgeable about real estate and probably paid for himself many times over in money he saved me and also in the time he saved me. I don't think he showed me a house that was not aligned with the requirements I'd given him. He also has a way of drawing additional information out of you so that he can fine-tune the search radius for properties.
