Shane Peters was an invaluable resource for us as we searched for a vacation home near Asheville. He was our eyes and ears due to the fact that we were from out of state. If you are looking, or have looked, into buying a house, you may have had the same struggles I did. One of the biggest struggles I had, was that no one would ever answer my calls, and most people I left word with wouldn't even call me back. Ward answered every single call. He always answered the phone. He also would let me know when he wouldn't be available so that I if I needed him I could text him to call me when he became available again. My partner and I had another agent before Ward that took us to a few different houses. We were completely new to home-buying and did not know what we were doing, and that other agent was absolutely no help at all, he stayed on his phone texting the entire time we would be looking at the houses and then make us feel like we wasted his time when we decided we didn't like the house. I had the good fortune of being randomly connected to Ward on April 8th as we searched for a new property in the surrounding areas of Asheville, NC. A Zillow search and request for information was followed up by a screening call with Ward. I knew from the first conversation that I had found a genuine and capable partner to support our needs. Well, my instincts were right, Ward successfully supported us and we closed on our property on May 19th. From start to finish, in 41 days, we found and purchased a new property, and did I mention I live in CT…? From day 1 Ward had us connected to a direct email feed of listings that was set up according to our requirements, property type, size, location, budget, etc. As we looked at listings and asked Ward for feedback and additional information, he was always available for support, opinion, and guidance. Once we narrowed down our selection, he contacted the selling agent on our behalf and then the fun began! An offer was made, a counteroffer was accepted, due diligence was sent and hand delivered, a dash cam video was made so we could see the approach to the property, and an internal video of the property was also sent for our review. In addition, he provided multiple options for mortgage brokers and attorneys to support our purchase. Ultimately contract terms were renegotiated based on the appraisal, all the T’s were crossed and I’s dotted and we closed (using a recommended attorney and one of the mortgage brokers mentioned above)! But the story doesn’t end there, that would be too easy. Ward has continued to be supportive, helping with a day of closing inspection, and taking calls while on vacation to coordinate a cleaning service to get the property ready for move in. In every aspect of the process, he has been nothing short of exemplary! You will not find a better, more accessible, motivated individual than Ward Caldwell!
