In Candler, Pastoral Living Pairs with Enviable Amenities

Candler NC Real Estate

Collaborative Post by Mosaic Realty agent Carol Marin and Mosaic blog writer Christie Kafka

Conveniently located just west of Asheville and surrounded by stunning mountain views sits the pastoral community of Candler. This Buncombe County region in Hominy Valley offers all the advantages of country life – more acreage on average than city properties, in a wider price range – coupled with easy access to downtown Asheville and a multitude of retail amenities.

Originally settled by the native Cherokee, Candler was claimed by German, Scottish and English settlers in the early to mid-1700s. In 1885, Civil War Capt. John K. Hoyt resided in a Queen Anne style house in Candler, which today operates as a historic bed and breakfast, the Engadine Inn.
