Brittany Roszko, broker with Mosaic Realty, thrives on connecting with others she comes across in the real estate world. When she’s not busy working with clients, you can find her enjoying the mountains from her base in Hendersonville, enjoying live music and dance and supporting local non-profits.
Share a bit about your background (how you got here, any family, pets, etc.)
This is actually our second time living in the area — right after we got married, my husband got a job in Arden and we moved here in 2015. We missed our families and temporarily moved back to Raleigh in February 2020. Of course, then the pandemic hit, so we stayed put for a bit. But when our daughter was old enough to start kindergarten, we moved back here. That would’ve been August 2022, just days before she started school.
What made you want to be a real estate broker?
You know, the first time we bought a house here, we called a brokerage about an online listing. The agent who took the call, who just happened to be on duty that day, turned out to be amazing! We became good friends, and are still, to this day. I felt our personalities were similar and I might do well as an agent. I wanted to give it a try — I’d worked in restaurants since I was 15, and I’d done stints in medical offices and as a bank teller, so I already had plenty of experience in learning to read people. After I became pregnant with our daughter, I went to real estate school. Even though I got my license in 2017, I didn’t actually work as an agent until 2020. It wasn’t as easy as I thought to go to showings with a baby on my hip!
Now, a few years in, I feel like being a realtor is definitely the right fit for me. I love doing all the research on the houses and being able to help people make more informed decisions about something very important — choosing a home!
What are your passions/hobbies?
Hiking and being in nature, of course! I also love going to hear live music or anything related to dance. I spent 16 years of my young life taking all kinds of dance lessons — ballet, hip-hop, jazz, you name it! I’m also a tea connoisseur - so you will definitely catch me out at a local cafe with a mug of hot tea.
What ways do you enjoy giving back to our community?
I’ve been providing some graphics support for the Friends of the Ecusta Trail, working with them on raffle posters and such, and I’m really looking forward to the completion of the trail. That’ll be a nice linkup between Hendersonville and Brevard. I’ve also been volunteering at my daughter’s nonprofit charter school, FernLeaf Community Charter School, which is very rewarding.
A couple more organizations I’d like to work into my rotation are The Buzz (Hendersonville’s first sober bar). 100% of their profits go to the Hope Coalition to support recovery and prevention programs! The other is the local chapter of Beauty Boost, which focuses on women, wellness, and supporting local makers. I’m a member and truly enjoy all of the events and outings they have that support local women!
What are your realty superpowers?
Connecting and building relationships with people, whether we wind up completing a deal or not. It doesn’t fill my cup to be all, “Oh hey, you need a house? Here’s my card!” I’d rather make a genuine connection and lose a sale. It’s important to me to be compassionate and understanding to what my clients are experiencing; it helps me to better help them, to get to the core of what they need and want. I also consider myself a chaos manager (like many parents) so you can find me cool, calm and collected while staying on top of all aspects of each transaction.
Do you have certain neighborhoods/communities in which you especially love to work?
Hendersonville, obviously! Downtown Hendo is great and Arden and Fletcher, too.
What is the most special thing about the AVL area?
The mountains! That ability to have nature right outside your door, whether it’s on a trail, at a park, or just checking out a band at the Salvage Station. And I love that welcoming, respectful people are the norm here. They’re loving and kind, and take care of themselves, each other, AND the earth. It’s a wonderful, vibrant culture of humanness, and I love being surrounded by that!
