Craggy Park, West Asheville’s sustainable urban community, is set to release its next phase of green-built residences, this time at Orrinel Way. On Nov. 4 and 5, from 1-4 p.m., visitors can tour the three new homes of Phase II, explore Craggy Park’s community gathering spaces, and learn about sales options from Mosaic Realty representatives.
The distinctive neighborhood of Craggy Park is admired for its idyllic setting, convenient location, and minimal environmental impact. The release of lots 28, 30 and 31 – in the model styles of Goldfinch, Chickadee and Flicker – brings to 27 the number of Craggy Park homes built thus far. The green homes, designed by W2 Architects, embrace a smart, sustainable design philosophy, maximizing livable space while minimizing the footprint. JAG Construction applies its talents in green building to the project, bringing to life homes with clean, modern lines and bright, open designs, responsibly constructed for low environmental impact and sustainable living.
Craggy Park’s connection to the outdoors
Craggy Park embodies the design philosophy of grouping homes around ample common space, which means residents can easily enjoy the outdoors without leaving their neighborhood. A park on Fox Creek and the adjacent urban woodland conservation area make it easy to stay connected to nature. The park includes a nature trail with benches, a lawn by the stream, a “little free library,” a tree house, an oversized double swing, organic gardens, a fire pit, a picnic area and herb spiral gardens. The neighborhood also boasts native and drought-tolerant landscaping.
To dive even deeper into nature, Craggy Park residents can take advantage of a range of nearby options. Craggy Park is an easy drive to hiking and biking trails in Bent Creek, water recreation on the French Broad River, and camping in DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forest.
Easy access to Haywood amenities
Craggy Park is linked to West Asheville’s popular Haywood Road business district via a greenway trail and a short stroll or bike ride up Dunwell Avenue. Anchoring West Asheville, this vibrant commercial corridor has been the area’s main artery for more than 100 years. Home to a range of businesses, Haywood boasts everything from retro arcades to artist co-ops to coffee shops to music halls. Even with all the changes the past decade has brought to Haywood Road, it still retains a small hometown feel. Residents of Craggy Park can be at restaurants, bars, grocery stores, parks and other amenities in mere minutes – making it that much easier to truly experience the area’s energy and sense of community.
