Asheville Real Estate Agents Give the Lowdown on September Events Around WNC

Eager to experience some exciting events and community opportunities in Asheville and Western North Carolina this September? Following are just a few of the many happenings around town, suited to a range of interests and lifestyles, and supported and curated by Mosaic Realty brokers!

Homeward Bound Golden Doors Gala (Sept. 3) – Homeward Bound of WNC will host its Golden Doors Gala at The Venue in downtown Asheville, featuring a reception, three-course dinner, live auction and theatrical performances highlighting the experiences of individuals facing homelessness in our community. Mosaic Realty is a sponsor of this inaugural gala supporting critical housing and outreach services. 

Food Connection Chefs in Action (Sept. 10) – Food, sustainability and community come together at Chefs in Action at The Venue. More than 10 local chefs will create small plates using rescued food that would otherwise go to waste, paired with live music, speakers and both silent and live auctions. Proceeds benefit Food Connection’s mission to reduce food waste and feed neighbors in need. Mosaic is a co-sponsor of this event along with broker Nancy Horowitz.

Chefs in Action 

Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour (Sept. 11-12) – Celebrate adventure and storytelling at the Wortham Center for Performing Arts during MountainTrue’s Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, of which Mosaic and broker Caley Bowman are sponsors. This two-night event marks the festival’s 50th anniversary, featuring a different lineup of inspiring mountain films each evening. Doors open at 6 p.m., with films beginning at 7 p.m. 

West Asheville Garden Stroll (Sept. 12) – Explore the creativity and beauty of West Asheville during the 17th Annual Garden Stroll. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., guests can tour 13 unique neighborhood gardens featuring pollinator habitats, water features, edible landscapes, and artistic outdoor spaces. This free community event is co-sponsored by Mosaic and broker Ren Fridell. 

Asheville Wine Walk (Sept. 13) – Sip and stroll through downtown Asheville during the Asheville Wine Walk, featuring curated wine tastings at local shops, galleries and businesses, all to benefit Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. Guests can choose from three routes and enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring the city. VIP entry begins at 1:30 p.m., with general admission from 2–5 p.m. 

Biltmore Championship

Biltmore Championship Asheville (Sept. 17-20) – A landmark event for Western North Carolina, the PGA Tour returns to the region with the inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove. Set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this Jack Nicklaus-designed course will host world-class competition and mark the first PGA Tour event in the area since 1942. 

ACT’s “Little Shop of Horrors” (Sept. 18-Oct. 11) – Enjoy this classic musical comedy about a foul-mouthed carnivorous plant plotting global domination. The play runs at downtown’s Asheville Community Theatre, an entertainment fixture since 1946.

RSAA Sneaker Gala (Sept. 19) – The Reparations Stakeholder Authority Sneaker Gala returns with an Afrofuturism theme, inviting guests to pair formal attire with their favorite sneakers for an evening of celebration, culture and social impact. Hosted at The Mule, the event features entertainment, fundraising and community connection. 

Blue Ridge Pride Festival (Sept. 25-26) – Asheville’s largest Pride celebration returns to Pack Square Park with the theme “Holler Loud, Love Proud.” The two-day festival features live music, performances, vendors, food and community programming celebrating LGBTQ+ pride and inclusion. Mosaic is excited to support Blue Ridge Pride, along with brokers Anthony Guthmiller, Jackie Dirscherl and Ward Caldwell. 

bountiful Cities Auction Benefit 2026

Bountiful Cities Birdhouse Auction Benefit (Sept. 26) – Held at Urban Orchard Cider Company, this fundraiser features a live auction of handcrafted birdhouses and unique garden-inspired experiences. Proceeds support Bountiful Cities’ work in urban agriculture, food security and community education. Mosaic is a co-sponsor of this event along with brokers Anthony Guthmiller and Jackie Dirscherl. 

Preservation Society Time Traveling Gala (Sept. 26) – Celebrate Asheville’s architectural heritage and history at the Preservation Society of Asheville & Buncombe County’s Time Traveling Gala at downtown Asheville’s Masonic Temple. This special evening, sponsored by Mosaic, will feature live music and entertainment, hor d'oeuvres and cocktails. 

Area High School Sports (throughout September) – Fall sports are back across Western N.C., bringing Friday night lights, spirited competition and community pride. Mosaic sponsors the Asheville High Booster Club, while Mosaic broker Casey Conner supports the Owen High Booster Club. From football and soccer to volleyball and cross country, local student-athletes make this season one of the most exciting times of the year.
