LEAF Brings Epic Celebration of Global Arts, Music and Creativity to WNC

LEAF Festival Asheville Black Mountain

Each May and October, 12,000 people descend on the Lake Eden grounds in Black Mountain for LEAF, an epic celebration of music, art, creativity and culture. Taking place at Camp Rockmont on the site of the old Historic Black Mountain College amid rolling hills, lakes and mountain beauty, LEAF (Lake Eden Arts Festival) features global artists, musicians, performers and facilitators who are not only masters of their craft, but who also care deeply for the power of arts education and community impact.

The site of the festival, which has been running for more than two decades, is surrounded by hundreds of stunning acres featuring rustic cabins, large camping fields with mountain views, hiking trails, barns, streams and lakes for canoeing and swimming, and a zipline. Included in entry is a range of fun-filled activities for the entire family:

LEAF Festival Asheville·      Entertainment Stages: With six performance stages, attendees can enjoy all manner of entertainment. A variety of musicians, dancers and other performers fills the roster and keeps the nonstop entertainment going. This fall, Mosaic Community Lifestyle Realty and JAG & Associates Construction are co-sponsors of The Barn stage.

·      LEAF Family Adventure Villages: There are eight adventure villages, and each is filled with interactive stations, where young and old alike can enjoy crafts, games, sports and shows.

·      Healing Arts: Free healing arts workshops are available to attendees, including yoga, dance and martial arts. Workshops on nutrition, ancient earth skills and plant walks, as well as booths offering massage, rolfing, acupuncture and chiropractic work, are also available.

·      Vendors: Over 100 of the region’s best artisans, crafters, holistic practitioners and foodies gather at every LEAF to market their wares and services.

LEAF Festival Black MountainAt any given LEAF, expect to experience more than 400 performing artists, more than 100 shows, around 50 healing arts workshops and some 20 Family Adventure workshops.

In addition, LEAF Café in Eden Hall and various culinary booths throughout the festival grounds provide gourmet, international fare from local chefs. The food is prepared on site all day and into the evening, with offerings ranging from vegan dishes to BBQ, and everything in between. Culinary Passports containing multiple meal vouchers are available for purchase.

LEAF offers daily and weekend passes. Attendees with weekend passes can also choose to spend the entire weekend on the grounds by renting tent or vehicle camping spots, or by booking an on-site cabin.
