Halloween in Asheville offers something for everyone. Many area neighborhoods have a great trick-or-treating scene. But if candy and costumes aren’t your thing, you can still find fun ways to enjoy Halloween in Asheville this year. From hair-raising comedy tours to chilling haunted trails to thrill-filled dance parties, there’s something sure to entertain you this October!
Ghost Hunters of Asheville
Looking for an interactive ghost tour complete with equipment and training on the use of spirit boxes, EVP recording, EMF meters, and other ghost-detecting equipment? Ghost Hunters offers all of this and more. Featuring ghostly walking tours Downtown Spirits, Haunted Montford and Black Mountain, Ghost Hunters recounts carefully curated stories of Asheville’s paranormal past and present. All ages are welcome for these evening tours, with tickets ranging from $13 to $20 (kids 6 and under free).
LaZoom Haunted Comedy Tour
This year-round, adults-only comedy bus tour features a comedic guide who reveals Asheville’s bloody past and once-seedy underbelly. Along the way, hear stories of Asheville’s murders, hangings and unsolved mysteries. The hour-long tour runs nightly through October. Tickets $26, with reservations recommended.
Pinhead’s Graveyard
This top-rated outdoor haunted house runs over a ½ mile path through thick, dense woods and features a bevy of horror movie characters – think Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, and of course Pinhead. Open to all ages, the experience offers thrills for adults, but is also toned down for small children. The tour runs on select October evenings. Tickets $20.
The Haunted Trail at Pisgah Brewing
This popular trail, filled with live actors, realistic props and ghostly sounds, runs in late October. The trail walk stays in family-friendly territory, without violence or gore, and actors cater the scares appropriately to each age group. After enjoying the adrenaline rush, guests can regroup at the Party at Pisgah Park, which features Halloween crafts, local food trucks, games and Pisgah beer on tap for the grown-ups. Tickets range from $9 to $13.
The Haunted Farm
Located on what many believe to be haunted grounds, this scary spot in Hendersonville features three main parts – the Woods, the Farm and the Haunted Hayride. Runs select evenings through October. Tickets $25 (cash only).
Haunted Grove House Inferno
An annual 18+ Halloween costume and dance party at the Grove House Entertainment Complex in downtown Asheville, the Haunted Inferno features three levels of themed dance halls. Come dressed to impress and enter the costume contest for a chance to win $1,000. $25 ticket allows entry to the entire complex.
