Spring LEAF
Since 1995, LEAF has brought festival-goers together to celebrate world music, art, creativity and culture. This spring will once again see a smaller LEAF (ReTreat LEAF), created during the pandemic and featuring a scaled-back format and limited tickets. Asheville Maker Faire
Celebrating all things uniquely creative to Western North Carolina, the second Asheville Maker Faire will be held this year on May 7 at A-B Tech. The free event is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists and commercial exhibitors to display what they’ve made and share what they’ve learned. Free For All Show in Downtown Asheville
On Saturday, May 7th in Downtown Asheville's Pack Square Park, Asheville's Grammy award-winning band Steep Canyon Rangers will be performing a free show, rain or shine. Our VOICE’s Break the Silence Speaker Series
Our VOICE, a non-profit crisis intervention and prevention agency helping victims of sexual violence in Buncombe County, holds the Break the Silence Speaker Series every year. The agency’s largest fundraising event, this series (held this year in early March) highlights the voice of a national leader, activist or survivor who has worked to improve systems in responding to and ending sexual assault or human trafficking in our community. https://www.ourvoicenc.org/bts/
Bowl for Kids’ Sake
Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC serves over 2,000 regional youth each year, and this signature fundraiser is a fun way to help support the organization’s work. Bowl for Kids’ Sake brings half a million people across America together annually to raise money to support the organization (this year’s virtual event just wrapped). SoCon Tournament Week
An annual rite of spring in Asheville, the Southern Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships come to downtown every year in early March. Asheville on Bikes’ Spring Out
Asheville on Bikes, a non-profit advocating for better biking and walking infrastructure in Asheville and Western North Carolina, hosts fun-filled events throughout the year aimed at drawing cycling awareness.
