With the holidays fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to check out Asheville’s local farmers’ and makers’ markets for decorations and other festive finds. Here are a few of our favorites.

Asheville Area Holiday Markets

North Asheville Tailgate Market’s 21st Annual Holiday Bazaar

This popular holiday market, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Dec. 16, features a range of products to bring cheer to your home. Specialty products include Christmas trees and wreaths, decorative floral wreaths, beeswax candles, and ornaments. You can also find unique items to carry your home décor into the new year, such as garlic braids, gourds, greenery and sheepskins. Asheville City Market

This market, in downtown Asheville, runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and boasts a range of vendors selling items ideal for bringing the holidays home. Artisan crafts, as well as flowers both dried and fresh, add warmth and interest to any room. For family and friends who may be coming to visit for the holidays, make sure to stock your guest rooms with specialty soaps, salves and candles. 52 N. River Arts District Winter Farmers Market

This vibrant winter market, held Wednesdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at Smoky Park Supper Club, features a wide range of local holiday goods. Sip on a warm beverage as you delight in shopping for everything from beeswax candles and Christmas wreaths to corn shocks, ornamental corn, decorative floral wreaths and greenery. 350 Riverside Drive.

WNC Farmers Market

This year-round market, celebrating the region’s diverse culture, food and heritage, takes it up a notch for the holidays, featuring one of the largest Christmas tree markets on the East Coast. Shoppers can also expect to find a range of handmade wreaths and garlands, stockings, ornaments and other handcrafted decorations. 570 Brevard Road.
