Asheville on Bikes Promotes Pedaling to Mosaic Art Walk & Benefit With Bike Valet

Mosaic Realty is gearing up for its second annual Mosaic Art Walk & Benefit on Thursday, May 2, from 5-9 p.m. This free community fundraiser, open to the public and featuring light fare, beverages and exciting raffle prizes (including a car raffle), will take place at 14 downtown Asheville galleries to benefit 15 area nonprofits. And new this year: Getting to the Art Walk & Benefit just became a little easier – and a lot more fun – with Asheville on Bikes’ Bike Valet!

Art Walk Asheville Bike ValetA leader in Asheville’s pro-pedal movement, the nonprofit Asheville on Bikes advocates for better biking and walking infrastructure in the city and the surrounding Western N.C. region. The group celebrates bike culture regularly through group rides, educational programs, and fun special events – including partnering with Mosaic Art Walk & Benefit to offer the evening’s Bike Valet. Curious to learn how you can pedal your way to the fun? Read on!

What is a Bike Valet?

Just as it sounds, a Bike Valet is like valet parking – you check in your bike and get a claim ticket. Asheville on Bikes safely holds on to your bike in the valet, where its staff will keep an eye on it while you enjoy the evening’s festivities. When you come back, simply hand in your ticket and pick up your bike. Piece of cake!

Bike Valet AshevilleWhere will the Bike Valet be located? What are the hours?

The Bike Valet will be set up at Pritchard Park in downtown Asheville (intersection of Patton Avenue and Haywood Street) from the hours of 4:30pm to 10pm. The Bike Valet will be stationed adjacent to Asheville Gallery of Art, where raffle tickets and art sales will go to benefit Asheville on Bikes as its featured nonprofit.

What are the best routes to ride to the Bike Valet?

Asheville on Bikes has created a map with three suggested routes:

Can I park my bike trailer/tandem/unicycle/recumbent and e-cargo bike at the Bike Valet?

Of course! If it’s on wheels and powered by human muscles, Asheville on Bikes will park it.

Do I need to lock my bike? Will it be safe?

Asheville on Bikes’ staff will never leave the valet unattended, and no one else is allowed access to the bikes. Your bike will be in good hands!

Asheville Art Walk BikingDoes it cost anything?

It’s absolutely free – always has been, always will be. Asheville on Bikes does, however, accept donations. The best way to support Asheville on Bikes is to buy a raffle ticket at the event!
