Asheville Real Estate Agents Give the Lowdown on Events Around WNC

Eager to experience some exciting events and community opportunities in Asheville and Western North Carolina this June? Following are just a few of the many happenings about town, suited to a range of interests and lifestyles, and supported and curated by Mosaic Realty brokers!

Asheville Real Estate Agents EventsRAD Half Marathon and 10K (June 9) – This picturesque race – one of the fastest in the area – takes participants through Asheville’s River Arts District on a meandering course along the French Broad River. A post-race party with live music and local vendors rounds out the fun, in partnership with Asheville nonprofit Open Hearts Art Center.

15th Annual Authors for Literacy (June 13) – This popular Literacy Together event, sponsored by Mosaic, is the largest annual fundraiser for Literacy Together and will feature guest speaker and New York Times bestselling author Lisa See. There will also be presentations by Literacy Together staff, board and students, a fun-filled live auction, book signing, and buffet of heavy hors d’oeuvres. Literacy Together helps people of all ages reach their goals through the power of literacy.

18th Annual Art in Bloom (June 14 and 15) – This fundraiser for the Black Mountain Center for the Arts is cosponsored by Mosaic Realty and Mosaic broker Shane Peters. The multifaceted experience, celebrating nature and art, includes two gallery exhibits, live floral arrangements, and a local garden tour featuring working artists. Art in Bloom events, anchored by the gallery and garden tours June 14 and 15, span the month of June.

Art in Bloom 2024Music on Main (June 15) – This annual, family-friendly community festival in downtown Weaverville features everything from live music (three bands will headline) to kid activities to beverage and food vendors. The fun starts at 4 p.m., and stretches all along Weaverville’s eclectic Main Street.

sov·er·eign·ty: Expressions in Sovereignty of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians – (through February 2025) – Featuring objects sourced from the Museum of the Cherokee People’s own collections, sov·er·eign·ty is designed to educate visitors about the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians’ autonomy, its relationship with the federal government, and how the tribe has defined its own relationship with its land, people and culture.

Asheville City Soccer Club (throughout June and July) – June will see some exciting matches from Asheville’s amateur soccer club, cosponsored by Mosaic Realty and Mosaic broker Stacey Enos. Come cheer on both the men’s and women’s teams as they take on opponents at UNCA’s Greenwood Field.

Stacey Enos Signing Autographs50 Seasons of Theatrical Magic (throughout June and July) – This celebration of Southern Appalachian Repertory Theatre’s half-century anniversary features a range of enthralling stage performances. Visit the Mars Hill-based theatre in June to experience “End of the Rainbow: The Final Days of Judy Garland,” “Hard Travelin’ With Woody: Featuring the Music, Art & Wit of Woody Guthrie,” “The Fantastiks: An All-Star Staged Reading/Concert Event,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Jazz Sundays (2-5 p.m. every Sunday in June and July) – Visit Ginger’s Revenge in the River Arts District for an entertaining jazz jam, featuring a different guest artist each week.

Yoga in the Park (Saturdays and Sundays through October) – Gather at Carrier Park in West Asheville for these midday, open-air yoga sessions, geared to a range of experiences and abilities.

Bugs: Outside the Box (through Sept. 8) – This engaging exhibit at the North Carolina Arboretum, of which Mosaic Realty is a proud sponsor, features enormous, scientifically exact sculptures of bugs, magnified to give viewers insight into the creatures’ often-overlooked intricacies.

Bugs Outside the BoxChihuly at Biltmore (through Jan. 5, 2025) – Specially curated for the Biltmore House, this immersive experience of world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly’s iconic creations shines within the intimate gallery setting of Amherst at Deerpark, on the Biltmore grounds.
