Shindig on the Green (beginning July 6) – In its 58th season, Shindig on the Green highlights the music and dance traditions of Southern Appalachia with a stage show and informal jam sessions at Pack Square Park. AVLFest (Aug. 1-4) – This venue-based music festival will fill more than 20 area concert halls, clubs and outdoor venues with an exceptional multi-genre lineup of local, regional and national talent. Sourwood Festival (Aug. 10-11) – This free street festival draws thousands every year to picturesque downtown Black Mountain to celebrate all things local sourwood honey and bee-related. 2024 Summer Cycle (Aug. 24) – This Asheville on Bikes event, slated for 3-7 p.m., features a community ride aimed at promoting the sport of cycling, no matter your age or ability. 77th Annual North Carolina Apple Festival (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) – With a street fair, arts & crafts, live music and entertainment, children’s activities and rides, parade, food and much more, the Apple Festival draws thousands to downtown Hendersonville every year. Pisgah Area SORBA (ongoing events and volunteer opportunities) – Pisgah Area Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association – of which Mosaic is a proud supporter – is dedicated to creating, maintaining and improving trail systems in the Pisgah Ranger District and surrounding region in order to preserve mountain biking opportunities for the community. The largest nonprofit mountain biking organization in the Southeast, SORBA hosts events throughout the year, including Women’s Mountain Bike Day in May and Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day in October. Additionally, the association hosts cookouts as well as tent and table events at Western N.C. festivals, breweries and other gatherings to promote SORBA’s mission. https://pisgahareasorba.org
