Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day (Oct. 5) – This free event, from Pisgah Area Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association, aims to introduce the joys of mountain biking to the next generation. Come to Richmond Hill Park in Asheville between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to join in all the fun. Kenilworth Artists Studio Tour (Oct. 5 and 6) – This studio stroll, sponsored in part by Mosaic broker Vanessa Byrd, features 26 artists and 14 studios in Asheville’s Kenilworth neighborhood. Peruse everything from artisanal jewelry to paintings to ceramics to woodwork while mingling with artists and neighbors at this free event. Apple Harvest Festival (Oct. 19) – Downtown Waynesville’s annual Apple Harvest Festival celebrates all things apple with arts, crafts and of course, the flavors of the fall season.
