Asheville Real Estate Agents Give the Lowdown on March Events Around WNC

Blue Ridge Orchestra’s “March Melodrama” (March 1, 2) – The Blue Ridge Orchestra (of which Mosaic is a proud sponsor) continues celebrating its 25th anniversary season with two afternoon performances of “March Melodrama.” Franklin Keel will lead the orchestra as guest conductor for the performances, to be held in UNC Asheville’s Lipinsky Auditorium. Among the highlights will be Gluck’s dramatic Overture to Iphigenie in Aulis, Mozart’s Concerto No. 23 in A major, K. 488, and Dvorak’s Symphony no. 8 in G major.

Paddling Film Festival World Tour Screening (March 6) – This popular annual film festival, co-sponsored by Mosaic along with brokers Rika Taylor and Caley Bowman, returns to the Grey Eagle for an evening of top-notch paddling flicks. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the work of MountainTrue, which works to maintain resilient forests, clean waters and healthy communities in Western N.C. Learn more here!

SoCon 2025 Asheville

SoCon Week (March 6-10) – Enjoy the inaugural SoCon Week in Asheville, sponsored by Mosaic Realty and broker Kathleen Cook. Come out to cheer on your favorite teams in the Southern Conference Basketball Championships (Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville) as well as the Wrestling Championships (UNC Asheville’s Kimmel Arena). In partnership with Explore Asheville, the Southern Conference is directing a portion of premium-level ticket sales to the Always Asheville Fund to support small, independent travel and hospitality businesses as they recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene.

“The Ongoing Fight for Freedom: Stories of NC Black Veterans” (March 7) – Black Mountain Center for the Arts presents this one-man performance elevating Black freedom fighters and veterans with North Carolina connections. Highlighting both the known and unknown, on and off the traditional battlefield, this presentation brings to life those who have engaged in over 400 years of a struggle for freedom, liberty and equality. 2025 Shamrock Run

Asheville Catholic School Shamrock Run (March 8) – This popular event, co-sponsored by Mosaic along with brokers Eric Albee and Caley Bowman, returns for an 18th year with a fun run and 5k. Proceeds go to benefit the O’Brien and William Edward Gibbs Memorial Scholarship Fund. Visit their website.

Organic Growers School 2025 Spring Conference (March 14-16) – Held at Mars Hill University, this year’s conference focuses on the theme of Resilience, Recovery and Renewal. The largest gathering of farmers, gardeners and sustainability advocates in the Southeast will feature more than 32 workshops across eight tracks, including gardening, soils, mushrooms and more, as well as three specialized tracks to address the region’s most urgent needs as it rebuilds post-Helene.

Bowl for Kids Sake Asheville

Bowl for Kids’ Sake (March 15) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC serves more than 2,000 regional youth each year, and this signature fundraiser, of which Mosaic is a sponsor, is a fun way to help support the organization’s work. Fundraising teams collect donations that go toward supporting the donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network; this year’s event also includes a costume contest.

Restorative Yoga + Hot Stones with Live Violin (March 22)This workshop, offered by West Asheville Yoga on a sliding scale, will help to ease tensions and soothe the nervous system through a gentle and nurturing restorative yoga practice enhanced with hot stones placed on the body during poses. Madelyn Ilana will create ambient violin soundscapes to support the journey.

Orchid Festival Asheville

24th Asheville Orchid Festival “Orchid Arcadia” (March 28-30) – The Western North Carolina Orchid Society and the North Carolina Arboretum join forces to bring to life one of the region’s most popular annual plant festivals. “Orchid Arcadia” will feature world-class orchid growers, breeders and regional orchid societies exhibiting hundreds of blooms in the Arboretum’s Education center.

United Way’s Community Nights Featuring Homework Diners – Volunteer opportunities abound at these ongoing community events, which offer students and their families a nutritious meal, academic support and access to a wide variety of community resources. Visit their website to learn more about Homework Diner dates, locations, and available volunteer roles.
