Arbor Evenings at The North Carolina Arboretum Celebrates Music, Nature and Community

There’s no better way to spend a summer evening in Asheville than basking in the golden hour glow at The North Carolina Arboretum’s Arbor Evenings, June 11- September 18. Running every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Arbor Evenings invites locals and visitors alike to sip, stroll and soak in live music amid the Arboretum’s stunning gardens and mountain views.

Arbor Evenings NC Arboretum

Set on the Baker Center event lawn in one of the most beautiful natural venues in Western North Carolina, Arbor Evenings combines the serenity of the outdoors with the vibrant sounds of talented local and regional musicians. With performances from artists like Marley’s Chain, Old Sap, Jackson Grimm, The Loverfaces, Carrie Morrison, and Ro & Jo Duo, every Arbor Evening offers a unique soundtrack to your garden explorations.

To complement the music (and in a first for the event), a rotating lineup of Asheville’s favorite food trucks will be serving up local flavors. Whether you’re craving smoky southern barbecue from Hit the Pit BBQ, flavorful Indian cuisine from Mehfil, or indulgent treats from Glazed and Infused and Silly Willies, there’s something to please every palate. Beer, wine and soft drinks will also be available for purchase on-site from the Gardener’s Shed, making Arbor Evenings the perfect casual night out – whether it’s a family outing, romantic date, or relaxed evening with friends. (Note: Outside alcohol is prohibited, but guests may bring water or non-alcoholic beverages.)

In the event of rain, Arbor Evenings will move inside to the Baker Center. Visitors to Arbor Evenings are also welcome to view current exhibits in the Baker Center. Admission to Arbor Evenings is included with the Arboretum’s standard parking fee, and members of the Arboretum Society (and their guests riding in the same vehicle) can attend for free. Proceeds from Arbor Evenings directly support the North Carolina Arboretum Society, helping to further the Arboretum’s mission of education, conservation and community connection.

Experience the Arboretum: A botanical Blue Ridge gem

Located just south of Asheville, the North Carolina Arboretum is a treasure trove of natural beauty and botanical diversity. With 65 acres of cultivated gardens, scenic walking and biking trails, and world-class exhibits, it’s one of the top outdoor attractions in Western North Carolina.

Whether you’re visiting for Arbor Evenings or spending an afternoon exploring the grounds and exhibits, the Arboretum is the perfect place to unwind, glean knowledge and connect with nature. With a backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a deep commitment to preserving the region’s extensive biodiversity, the Arboretum offers a uniquely enriching experience, all just a short drive from downtown Asheville.
