Doing Good Through Business: Mosaic Realty and Devil's Foot Partner in Local Non-Profit Fundraising Series

From its inception, Mosaic Realty has placed a high priority on the community of Asheville, advocating for the vitality of the city and the organizations that support it. To that end, Mosaic is excited to announce the launch of its newest community partnership, Doing Good Through Business. Mosaic is teaming with Devil’s Foot Beverage Company to host a series of gatherings aimed at lifting up the work of various local nonprofit organizations around the Asheville area. The fundraising initiative kicks off this month with three events; additional monthly events are slated throughout the spring and summer.

Events will be held at The Mule, Devil’s Foot’s South Asheville location at 131 Sweeten Creek Road. On designated Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., 15% of all bar sales for the evening will be donated to a local nonprofit organization. This donation will be matched by Mosaic Realty and its broker who is supporting the featured non-profit. Supporting the effort is easy: All you need to do is show up and enjoy a tasty Devil’s Foot beverage, including draft soda, beer and wine, as well as cocktails and mocktails featuring Devil’s Foot craft sodas and house-made tonic.

March Doing Good Through Business events feature the following nonprofits and the agents who support them:

Elizabeth Putnam Asheville

Thursday, March 23 – Bounty & Soul Fundraiser, with 15% of The Mule’s donated bar sales to be matched by Mosaic agent Elizabeth Putnam.

Bounty & Soul is a community-based nonprofit providing free access to fresh produce and wellness/nutrition education. Asheville native Elizabeth Putham’s passion for her hometown community comes through in her support of nonprofits that advocate for the right to healthy, nutritious foods.

"There was a period of time earlier in my life when I had lost my job. As the primary breadwinner for our family of three, we became financially insecure and in jeopardy of losing our home. I know what it feels like to be “food insecure” and to only eat tuna fish and peanut butter sandwiches every day. I know how hard it is to ask for help. Bounty & Soul provides healthy fresh foods with love and dignity for our community. I couldn’t be more proud!"  - Elizabeth

Craig Severance Asheville

Thursday, March 30 – Brother Wolf Animal Rescue Fundraiser, with 15% of The Mule’s donated bar sales to be matched by Mosaic agent Craig Severance.

BWAR betters the lives of companion animals through adoption and pet retention programs, low-cost spay and neuter clinics, and volunteer and foster networks, among many other services. Craig’s dedication and compassion for his community come out in myriad ways, including in his support of Brother Wolf and the work they do helping thousands of animals every year. He even has two BWAR adoptees himself!

"I was raised that pets are family too. Brother Wolf's dedication to bettering the lives of companion animals and the people who love them is such an amazing and necessary endeavor. I'm proud to support Brother Wolf and the furry members of our community. Get your tails to Devil's Foot March 30th from 5-8!" - Craig

Joseph Ruiz NC Outward Bound School

Thursday, April 6th – NC Outward Bound School Fundraiser, with 15% of The Mule’s donated bar sales to be matched by Mosaic agent Joseph Ruiz.

NCOBS offers challenging adventure programs to participants of all ages aimed at building strength of character, leadership skills, and service inspiration. Joseph exhibits his passion for supporting the local and global community by traveling and working with NCOBS, among many other nonprofit organizations.

"I love Outward Bound's mission. I took two courses as an adult and worked for The North Carolina Outward Bound School for 10 years after that. Get out in our Wilderness areas and learn what you can do." - Joseph
