Blue Ridge Orchestra Music Menage (March 7, 8) – The Blue Ridge Orchestra (of which Mosaic is a long-time supporter) presents a small ensemble collaboration with UNC Greensboro’s Opera Theatre. Two evenings of intimate performances will include selections from Mozart and Puccini, as well as iconic songs from beloved French operas. Southern Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships (March 7-11) – Hosting some of the nation’s best conference tournament action, the annual SoCon Tournament draws teams and fans from across the region to Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville to catch college basketball at its finest. ASAP’s CSA Fair (March 8) – This free, family-friendly fair, to be held from 3-5:30 p.m. at YWCA of Asheville, offers the opportunity to meet local farmers and learn about CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) in Western N.C. Organic Growers School Spring Conference (March 8-10) – This conference in Mars Hill, co-sponsored by Mosaic Realty and broker Erin Walton-Haggerty, supports, inspires and educates people to farm, garden and live organically by providing affordable, hands-on education. Bowl for Kids’ Sake (March 9) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNC serves more than 2,000 regional youth each year, and this signature fundraiser, of which Mosaic is a sponsor, is a fun way to help support the organization’s work. Fundraising teams collect donations that go toward supporting the donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, and then celebrate their success by attending a local bowling party. Landscaping with Native Plants to Support Nature (March 12) – At this free public program, to be held at 7 p.m. at UNCA’s Reuter Center, participants will learn about re-wilding urban and suburban landscapes using native plants in thoughtful designs to produce biological diversity and add beauty. Asheville Catholic School Shamrock Run (March 16) – This popular event, co-sponsored by Mosaic along with brokers Eric Albee and Caley Bowman, returns for a 17th year with a fun run, 10k and 5k. Volunteer Expo (March 23) – The Junior League of Asheville will hold its sixth annual Volunteer Expo from 12-3 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Expo Center. Music Works – MusicWorks, co-sponsored by Mosaic Realty and broker Rika Taylor, is an artistic and social program in the greater Asheville area that uses music education as a tool to teach life skills.
